scab
Other names: crust
The scab on the skin (crust professionally) is a sign of healing, when after previous injury oremptying blister (eg. Acne or any infectious disease with rash) leads to the formation of some kind of coating formed from dried blood and tissue fluid. By color can determine the predominant content: brown to black color indicates that the scab is formed mainly by blood, amber or honey-yellow color is a sign of a scab primarily from tissue fluid. It’s basically the equivalent of a thrombus (blood clot), but the man was forming in blood vessels and which therefore do not see.
Scab also contains the remains of skin cells and sometimes pus (then has a green or gray-green color).
With scab stops bleeding from the wound and it can heal well. Scab after regeneration of the skinseparates and soon, then the top of the skin is completely healed, the injury or blister is gone. In some cases (for deeper, larger wounds and healing disorders) remains in the lesion scar (thus no complete healing).
Do not peel the scab prematurely, or extend the time needed for healing! The tissue beneath the scab still may not in fact be restored.
