Morning stiffness
Morning stiffness is a sensation of stiffness and tension of the fingers, usually on the hands and the feeling of inability to bend the small joints. This condition can last for varying periods of time, often several hours when you can not during the morning and afternoon to your normal daily activities.
It bothers the majority of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, where the morning stiffness of the joints of hand one of the main manifestations of the disease. It may be but other polyarthritis(inflammation of many joints) that as part of systemic disease of the connective tissue or rheumatic diseases of inflammatory origin (fibromyalgia, afflicting mostly women middle-aged and elderly), where the sensation of pain and stiffness with peak morning again dominant symptom. Difficulties with fibromyalgia may return in the evening after work load.
Even arthritis may occur morning stiffness, usually the knee. However, there is usually no longer than half an hour.
This symptom of the disease has a negative impact on the patient’s psychological state, since humans are often debilitating and immobilises the routine work. Subsided stiffness helps sometime heating and immersion of hands in hot water.
