yellow skin
Other names: jaundice, jaundice, a yellowing of the skin
Skin color is normally determined by a combination of three dyes, and melanin, hemoglobin andcarotenoids. Carotenoids are natural yellow-orange dyes and their extremely high dietary intake can cause yellow skin. However, this situation is not dangerous.
Sickly yellow skin, sclera and mucous membranes eventually called jaundice (jaundice). It has been responsible for increased amounts of bilirubin, a waste product resulting from the disintegration of red blood pigment. Bilirubin is normally processed by the liver and excreted in the altered forms of faeces and urine. The abnormalities in the processing of bilirubin may occur in three stages, and thus before the liver, the liver and behind them.
When bilirubin increased supply caused massive destruction of red blood cells (hemolysis),bilirubin accumulates in front of the liver, and that it prosecute process. Normally it is the case with neonates, where about the third day after birth decaying nonfunctional cells. Yellowing then persists for several days or weeks and then spontaneously or after treatment with blue light disappears.
Liver cell damage results in a decreased ability to process bilirubin. Jaundice is accompanied by lighter stools and dark urine. The culprit is usually one of the Viral Hepatitis (infectious jaundice) and wide myriad of diseases, eg. Cirrhosis or hepatic steatosis.
The last stage, which may cause an error in the excretion of bilirubin is its management of biliary liver to the intestine. If eg. Cirrhosis oppressed intrahepatic bile duct or bile duct is obstructed big(rock, a rare tumor), modified bilirubin can not be removed from the body. Stool is light and darker colored urine.
Jaundice will probably be accompanied by other symptoms (eg. Abdominal pain), for which the patient finds the practitioner.
