polio
Other names: paresis, paralysis
Polio is technically called paresis, it is a lighter to heavier disability momentum of lower or upper extremities (paraparesis), half of the body (hemiparesis), or sometimes even the entire body (quadruparesis). Severe disability movement is called plegia.
Polio can be spastic or poor, more of them read the tag “gait disorders.” There are some isolated palsies of the nerves, e.g. facial palsy face (ie. Bell’s palsy), when the patient has weakened facial muscles on one entire half of the face. This disease is caused by eg. Mumps boreliozou, injury, oppression due to a tumor in the area neuralgia, shingles in this localization and called on both sides.Guillain-Barré syndrome). Sometimes the cause of facial palsies not detect.
In another type of damage to the innervation of the patient merely depressed corner on one side (facial eye movements are preserved), it occurs frequently when cerebrovascular accidents (iktech).
Polio upper extremities are typical sequelae of encephalitis, against which it is possible to letpreemptively vaccinate. They may also be due to injuries of the upper shoulder girdle (e.g. typical accident motorcyclists), if it is the interruption of nerve, it is sometimes possible to these nerves surgically again reconstructed.
Nerves are also to some extent preserved regenerative capacity. Spinal cord and brain regeneration, however, are not able to.
Some polio are only transient and disappear after some time, it is important rehabilitation under theguidance of a physiotherapist. Unfortunately, sometimes it’s the only thing we can do for a person with permanent paralysis. They are very dangerous paralysis (paralysis or more) that start lower limbs and gradually continue upward, since they can irreversibly intervene and swallowing, speaking, and the resulting paralysis of respiratory muscles.
