baldness
Other names: Alopecia
Baldness is technically called alopecia (hair loss). It occurs either so that a greater percentage of the hair reaches the final growth phase, which leads to falling out of hair (normally it is only about 100 hairs a day), which may become necessary after childbirth, or growing hair “poisoned” cytostatic treatment , thallium and ionizing radiation. In the aftermath of the toxic effect of hair usually grow in again.
Hair loss can be total or only to a certain place (usually a circular shape) as is the case. Insystemic lupus erythematosus, or without proven cause. Thus bordered bearing no hair is treated withcorticosteroids, sulfone (dapsone) or cignolinem.
The total alopecia occurs mainly due to hormones (androgens), and can be treated in this caseestrogen, minoxidil and antiandrogens.
Hair loss after childbirth (thinning occurs rather than completely looking) into several months also usually normalizes.
However, there is alopecia leaving scars (after the post-cutaneous disease, inflammation, cancer process, connective tissue diseases, sarcoidosis, and other diseases) that often leads to permanent baldness without effective treatment, since the mechanisms leading to it are not yet precisely known.
