Genitals women are especially important for reproduction. The uterus is ready for it, wear 42 weeks the fetus and then, thanks to an ingenious system of many glands and muscles to give birth. Read the main division of reproductive organs in women, you must come to things you do not know now.

Function of reproductive organs in women

  • Egg maturation and release from the ovary cortex,
  • production of sex hormones,
  • the realization of sexual union,
  • if fertilization of an egg, creating a favorable environment for the development of the fetus and its birth.

Efferent genital tract

Fallopian tubes (tubae uterinae) – tube freely in the peritoneal algae on the pelvic wall are long about 13 cm, along with the ovaries form a so-called. Uterine appendages. The inner surface is covered with mucosa, whose cells bear cilia Percussion toward the uterus – fallopian tube facilitate the movement of eggs, their function is transport.

The fertilization of the egg occurs in the fallopian tubes – the egg into the uterus comes at a stage of several dozen cells (failing to fertilize the egg expires and is absorbed by the mucous membrane of the uterus or fallopian tube).

The womb (uterus) – muscular pear-shaped body, stored beneath the center cavity of the pelvis between the bladder and the rectum. Inside the slot-like cavity connected to the uterine corners with both fallopian tubes

Uterine wall has three layers:

  • mucous endometrium with numerous glands, undergoes cyclical changes – menstrual cycle (mucosa preparation for the possible adoption of a fertilized egg)
  • muscle myometrium strongest middle layer formed into spirals emanating from uterine horns conversion to the cervix, muscle contraction at the end of pregnancy, the fetus is expelled from the uterus
  • parametrium outer layer of the uterine wall, passes into the vicinity of the uterus, where it is thickened to a fibrous strips holding the uterus in a fixed position

Vagina (vagina) – connects the uterine cavity with external genital organs. It is a muscular tube připínající the uterine cervix (vaginal walls encircle the cervix and create so-called. Vaginal vault. In the vicinity of the cervix is loose connective tissue enabling substantial expansion of the vagina during childbirth. The entrance to the vagina is closed mucous algae – hymen (hymen) – has individually vary in size, strength and shape – at first sexual intercourse with tears, and after the first birth, virtually disappear.

Ovaries (ovarian) – paired gonads, which lies on the side walls of the pelvic cavity, the walls of the pan are attached algae peritoneum. For adult women have a size of ripe plums, produce germ cells – the egg (ovum). They are important endocrine glands – estrogen, progesterone

In adulthood cyclical formation of mature eggs with fully functional packaging – ovulatory cycle, during embryonic development in the bark about 6-7 million oocytes (eggs) in the cortex at birth only about 700,000 oocytes. The number is reduced until the onset of puberty up to about 300 – 400 000 oocytes.

Menstrual cycle – a recurrent endometrial (uterine lining) changes are caused by ovarian hormones – estrogen and progesterone.

We divided into four phases

  • menstrual phase
  • proliferative phase
  • secretory phase
  • ischemic phase

The external genital organs

Labia (labia majora) – skinfold filled with grease, on the outer surface of strongly pigmented and covered with hair from puberty, changing into the hair above the pubic symphysis (pubic). On the inner side of moving to a smaller mucosal folds – small labia (labia minora).

Small labia (labia minora) – along with the labia majora enclose entrance (vestibule) into the vagina with virgins (virgo) partially closed hymen (Hymen).

Vestibular glands – located under the mucous membrane of the vaginal opening, plentiful around the external urethral orifice. The largest is the Bartholin gland, situated symmetrically at the lower edge of the vaginal opening. These glands produce secretions moisturizing vaginal opening.

Erectile body (clitoris) – above the vaginal entrance a few millimeters above the mouth of the urethra (the building corresponds topořivým bodies of the penis). On both sides of the vaginal opening dilutive teardrop-shaped body formed by wide venous knitting. During sexual stimulation they are filled with blood and swell, like the corresponding tissues of the penis in men – their blood content but is much smaller. Their only function is to increase the sexual excitement (for intercourse or insemination are not relevant).
